Iraqi currency auction sales approaching one billion dollars in a weekShafaq News/ The Central Bank of Iraq’s total hard currency sales of the US dollar during the past week approached one billion dollars.

Shafaq News agency reporter stated that the Central Bank sold during the past week, during the four days in which the auction opened, the amount of 984 million 865 thousand and 926 dollars, at a daily rate of 233 million 3 thousand 411 dollars, up by 27.27% from what was recorded the previous week. It reached a daily rate of 183 million and 79 thousand and one dollar.

Our correspondent added that the highest dollar sales during the past week were on Wednesday, when sales amounted to 207,291,275 dollars, while the lowest sales were on Sunday, when sales amounted to 180,151,132 dollars.

He pointed out that sales of foreign remittances amounted during the past week to 765,965,926 dollars, an increase of 71.42% compared to cash sales, which amounted to 218,900,000 dollars.

He explained that sales went in the form of cash and transfers abroad to finance foreign trade, while the selling price of documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards reached 1,305 dinars per dollar, while the selling price of remittances abroad and the cash sale price amounted to 1,310 dinars per dollar.
