Iraqi Airways decided on Sunday to suspend all its flights until the beginning of April, due to the exchange of fire between America and Israel on one side and Iran on the other.
According to an official letter received by Shafaq News Agency, Iraqi Airways has closed flights in the booking system until the first of next month, and has also stopped bookings for all sectors that the company operates on.
The decision also included suspending booking changes and refunds, and “freezing” tickets as “traveler credit” that can be reused without late fees.
This comes against the backdrop of air strikes launched by Israel and the United States on Sunday morning against Iran, which responded in kind with missile and drone attacks on targets inside Israel, the Gulf states, and Iraq.
Many countries in the region had closed their airspace due to the escalation in the Middle East, and all international airlines had suspended their flights to the Middle East region.
