Recent data on crude oil consumption for 2026 shows that Iraq recorded a daily consumption of more than one million barrels per day, according to 2026 GlobalFirepower data.

Iraq recorded a daily consumption of approximately 1,043,000 barrels of crude oil, ranking 22nd globally and second among Arab countries in terms of the world’s largest oil consumers.

On the Arab level, Iraq ranks second after Saudi Arabia, which consumes 3,524,000 barrels per day, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 846,000 barrels per day, and then Kuwait with 840,000 barrels per day.

Globally, the United States tops the list of the largest oil consumers with 20,307,000 barrels per day, followed by China with 16,189,000 barrels per day, then India with 5,271,000 barrels per day, and Russia with 3,863,000 barrels per day, while Saudi Arabia comes in fifth place globally with 3,524,000 barrels per day.

Iraq’s consumption reflects part of the operation of industries, transportation and infrastructure, and confirms its role as one of the largest oil consumers in the region and the world.
