A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received at his residence in the Turkish city of Antalya the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh, head of the Iranian delegation participating in the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.”

He added, “During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them in various fields were discussed.”

Fuad Hussein welcomed the talks scheduled to be held today, Saturday, in the Sultanate of Oman between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, expressing his hope that these negotiations will yield positive results that will contribute to achieving stability in the region.

The statement explained that the two sides discussed current regional developments, particularly in Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen, with the minister stressing the importance of enhancing regional dialogue and cooperation to address these issues.

For his part, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister extended an official invitation, on behalf of his country, to the Foreign Minister to attend the Tehran Dialogue Forum, scheduled to be held from May 16 to 19.
