He pointed out that “the agreement between the two sides is not binding and was in accordance with the law of Iraq and the United States for six months, a supplement to the Convention complementary to the Rice Agreement with US companies provided by the US Grain Board or through the US Embassy for rice.
“This agreement is the first step in the cooperation that we would like to achieve with the Ministry of Commerce and other ministries in helping the government and the prime minister implement what he wants to do,” said US Ambassador Douglas Silliman.
“This is all within the framework of the Strategic Framework Agreement between the two countries, an example of the kind of cooperation we would like to continue with the Ministry of Commerce and the Government,” he said.
