Iraq achieved the strongest increase in project value in the region during the period from May 15 to June 19, 2026, after adding new projects worth $12 billion, bringing the total value of projects in the country to $429 billion, according to data from the MEED Projects Index.
The data showed that Iraq recorded growth of 2.8% during the period mentioned, supported by the progress of the North Oil Company’s integrated project in the Ajil field, valued at $3 billion, to the study stage.
MEED magazine reported that the Gulf region’s projects market continued to expand for the fifteenth consecutive month, adding $66 billion to its total value, bringing the size of the regional projects market to $5.08 trillion.
At the level of the Gulf markets, the UAE recorded growth of 2.8%, bringing the value of its projects to $1.35 trillion, while the Sultanate of Oman achieved growth of 3%, bringing the value of its projects to $360 billion.
The value of projects in Qatar also rose by 1.9% to reach $241 billion, while Kuwait remained stable at $240 billion and Bahrain with no significant changes.
In contrast, Saudi Arabia was the only Gulf market that recorded a decline during the period, as the value of its projects decreased by about $10 billion, or 0.5%, to settle at $2.16 trillion.
