Iraq ranked 61st globally out of 130 countries in the ranking of the minimum monthly wage after adjusting for purchasing power parity, recording $626 per month, according to a report published by Visual Capitalist.
The ranking, which Shafaq News Agency reviewed, takes into account the differences in price levels and living costs between countries, with the aim of measuring the actual purchasing power of the minimum wage and making the comparison between countries more accurate.
Iraq came in slightly ahead of South Africa, which ranked 62nd with $620, and Guyana, which ranked 63rd with $619. China came in 73rd with $544, and Tunisia in 77th with $513.
On the other hand, Switzerland topped the ranking with a minimum of $3,804 per month according to purchasing power parity, followed by Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, while the United States came in 25th place with $1,257.
At the bottom of the ranking, Niger came in at 121st place with $196 per month, while Ghana recorded $100 at 127th place, and Gambia came in last at 130th place with $67.
