Iraq gets a loan from the World Bank for the implementation of the dry canal project

Baghdad, April 2 / April (Rn) – The Services Committee in the Iraqi parliament on Monday that the dry canal project linking Iraq to the rest of the world will be implemented during the next May, after the World Bank agreed to give Iraq a loan of one billion dollars. A member of the Commission services Parliamentary Ihsan Al-Awadi told the Kurdish news agency (Rn) announced today that… the “dry canal project linking the ports of Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Jordan will be implemented after the World Bank agreed to grant a loan of billion dollars for the purpose of implementation in order to support the movement of the ports in Iraq.” and added that “the Commission services will add Finance Minister Rafie al-Issawi to discuss ways to speed up the arrival of the loan to begin the process of implementing the project, because it is supposed to work pre-requisites to obtain the loan during the month of May next. ” He al-Awadi said “dry canal project is one of the most important strategic projects that benefit Iraq in the global transport and enhance the role of geographical in the region. ” The Ministry of Transport has announced that the company railways lose $ 72 billion dinars a year salaries to their employees, indicating that the annual profits, not to exceed 12 billion Iraqi dinars.
