The Iraqi General Cement Company, one of the companies of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, announced on Wednesday that the design capacity of the Al-Qaim cement plant has been achieved, amounting to 840,000 tons per year of resistant cement.
The company’s general manager, Zuhair Dawood Ahmed, said in a statement issued by the ministry that the factory’s production rate reaches 70,000 tons per month, which meets the needs of the local market in Anbar province and other provinces, noting that an average of 7,500 tons per month are exported to the Syrian Arab Republic.
He emphasized the continuation of work and production at the plant around the clock to enhance the country’s self-sufficiency and expand the export outlets for Iraqi cement to foreign markets.
