Iran responds to Trumps negotiations - We have set 5 conditions for ending the warShafaq News – Special Translation
Tehran announced on Wednesday its rejection of American proposals, which it described as “increasing demands,” to end the ongoing military conflict, stressing that the decision to stop the war rests solely with the Iranian leadership.

The Iranian Fars News Agency, in a report translated by Shafaq News Agency, quoted a high-ranking political and security official as saying that Washington had passed through diplomatic channels and regional mediators requests for negotiations, but Tehran considered them a “deception” aimed at escalating tensions.

The Iranian official pointed out that previous experiences in the spring and winter 2025 rounds of negotiations proved the lack of seriousness on the part of the United States, and were followed by military attacks.

He explained that the current American proposals are detached from the reality on the ground and do not reflect the failures suffered by American forces on the battlefield, stressing that Iran rejected the latest proposal that arrived through a “friendly mediator” and expressed its readiness to continue defending and directing “severe blows” at the adversary.

Tehran made any ceasefire or return to the negotiating table conditional on fulfilling a list of five conditions: ending all acts of aggression and assassinations targeting Iranian leaders or facilities, and guarantees of non-recurrence through the establishment of security and tangible arrangements that ensure war does not break out again in the future.

The list also included financial compensation through the establishment of a clear and binding international mechanism to determine and pay fines for damages caused by the war, the comprehensiveness of the regional solution so that the war is stopped on all fronts, including all factions of the “axis of resistance” participating in the conflict, and finally, maritime sovereignty by officially recognizing Iran’s legal right to exercise sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, as a guarantee for the implementation of the obligations of the other parties.

These statements come in the wake of failed rounds of negotiations in Geneva last February/March, just before the outbreak of the latest wave of escalation.

The Iranian official stressed that his country had informed international mediators that “there will be no negotiations before Iranian conditions are accepted,” adding: “We will end the war when we decide, not when Trump decides.”
