Member of Parliament Mukhtar al-Youssef revealed on Sunday that there is mounting pressure and demands from members of parliament directed at the Prime Minister to expedite the submission of nominees for the vacant ministerial positions as soon as possible, stressing that completing the cabinet has become an urgent necessity that cannot be delayed.
Al-Youssef told Al-Maalouma in an exclusive statement, “Iraq is currently going through the most difficult and critical period in its history, directly linked to the severe financial and economic crises.”
He added, “Delaying the appointment of the remaining ministers is no longer acceptable given the nature of the current challenges and the precarious security situation both domestically and regionally,” calling on the government to assume its responsibility and quickly submit the names to prevent the current crises from deepening.
It is worth noting that the recent meeting of the Coordination Framework announced the resolution of the issue of completing the vacant ministries, most notably the Interior and Defense ministries, and their submission to Parliament.
