The media department of the Iraqi parliament published on Wednesday the agenda for the 11th “secret session” scheduled to be held next Saturday, March 7.
According to the schedule obtained by Shafaq News Agency, it included one item (discussing the security challenges in Iraq and the region in the presence of security leaders).
He noted that the session would begin at 9:00 PM.
On Wednesday, MP Miqdad al-Khafaji, from the parliamentary rights bloc, told Shafaq News Agency that the House of Representatives will present a draft bill in the next session to cancel the security agreement with the American side to protect Iraqi airspace, and at the same time another agreement will be sought with international countries such as Russia and China.
In addition, MP Ibtisam Al-Hilali, from the State of Law bloc, warned during her interview with Shafaq News Agency on Tuesday that the security and economic situations pose a real danger to Iraq, demanding that the Speaker of Parliament set a date for an emergency session this week.
Parliament was scheduled to hold a session last Sunday to discuss the latest security challenges in Iraq and the region, but it was postponed until further notice due to the outbreak of war in the region and the killing of the Iranian Supreme Leader, in addition to the seriousness of the situation in Iraq and the presence of protests near the Green Zone and its closure for security reasons, according to what a source in the Parliament Presidency told Shafaq News Agency at the time.
