The media department of the House of Representatives stated in a statement: “The House of Representatives held Monday, its fifteenth session of the sixth electoral term of the first legislative year, the first legislative chapter, chaired by Hebat Al-Halbousi, Speaker of the House.”

The Speaker of Parliament affirmed that the session to elect the President of the Republic would proceed as scheduled, noting that the names of the absent MPs would be presented at the appropriate time.

He pointed out that “the Council completed the voting on the members of the permanent parliamentary committees, where it voted on the Committee on Agriculture, Water Resources, Marshes and Environment, and they are Ihsan Taaban, Abdul Hadi Al-Hasnawi, Falih Al-Khazali, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, Bariz Ismail, Ahlam Ramadan and Azhar Hamid Al-Sidran.”

The statement noted that “the Council, on the other hand, voted to correct the name of the Health Committee to the Health and Drug Control and Psychotropic Substances Committee, and the Council also voted on the Electricity and Energy Committee, whose members are Rahima Hassan, Abdul-Munim Faris, Hassan Wariush Muhammad Al-Asadi, Saad Shaker Aziz, Zahraa Luqman, Riyadh Adnan Aboud, Wafaa Hussein Salman, Ahmed Rashid Al-Salmani, Falah Saeed Jarmat, Walid Khalid Al-Daraji, Hind Al-Abbasi, Nour Al-Juhayshi, Halat Salman, and Hiwa Adam.”

The statement explained that “the Council completed the vote on the Committee for Martyrs, Victims and Political Prisoners, which includes Hussein Al-Batat, Ahmed Al-Moussawi, Habib Al-Halawi, Kawa Miro Khalid, and Barako Sherko Fatih. The House of Representatives also voted on the transfer of MP Ahmed Mazhar Al-Jubouri to the Committee for Regions and Governorates Not Organized in a Region, MP Samia Al-Ghalab to the Education Committee, and Khadija Wadi to the Electricity and Energy Committee.”

He added that “the council voted to recommend to the government to do justice to the families of the victims and martyrs of the security forces in all their branches and civilians in all governorates and to compensate them by allocating plots of land and financial allocations,” while it decided to adjourn the session until next Wednesday.
