Anwar Gargash, advisor to the UAE president, asserted on Tuesday that the Gulf states, Yemen, Lebanon, and Iraq are paying the price for what he described as Iran’s “inflated regional ambitions.”
Gargash said in a post on the X platform: “From the Arabian Gulf to Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq, we are all paying the price for Iran’s inflated regional ambitions. No country’s role in the region can come at the expense of shared security, stability and prosperity.”
Gargash pointed out that “a review is required and inevitable, and based on clear principles,” explaining that these principles are “respect for sovereignty, good neighborliness, and non-interference in the affairs of others.”
Gargash’s statements come at a time when the region is witnessing an escalation by Iran towards the Arab Gulf states, due to what Tehran describes as America’s support in its war against Iran, and the targeting of Washington’s interests in the region.
