Data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Sunday showed that the United States did not import any shipments of Iraqi crude oil during the week, for the fourth week in a row.
According to data seen by Shafaq News Agency, US imports of Iraqi crude oil reached zero during the week ending July 17, after having recorded 71,000 barrels per day in the week ending June 19, before US imports from Iraq stopped for the following four weeks.
In contrast, Canada topped the list of crude oil suppliers to the United States with 3.635 million barrels per day, followed by Venezuela with 688,000 barrels per day, and then Mexico with 480,000 barrels per day.
The United States also imported 242,000 barrels per day from Brazil, 141,000 barrels per day from Colombia, 103,000 barrels per day from Ecuador, and 8,000 barrels per day from Libya.
No imports were recorded from Saudi Arabia, Iraq or Nigeria during the past week, according to preliminary weekly data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
