An informed source stated that the coordination framework will hold a meeting this Sunday evening, in the presence of Prime Minister-designate Ali al-Zidi, to discuss the mechanism for forming the new government and the results of his recent dialogues with political forces.
The source told Shafaq News Agency that the meeting is the first for the coordination framework after Al-Zaidi’s tour of the Kurdistan Region and his return from it.
He added that the meeting will discuss the results of al-Zaydi’s meetings with political parties, particularly Sunni and Kurdish forces, as well as steps related to the formation of the next government cabinet.
Al-Zaidi arrived yesterday, Saturday, in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, where he met with Nechirvan Barzani, Masrour Barzani and Masoud Barzani, before heading to Sulaymaniyah to discuss the formation of the next federal government, the government program and the ministerial cabinet.
Last Thursday, the Coordination Framework held a meeting at the office of the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, in the presence of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and al-Zidi, during which they discussed political, security and economic developments, in addition to the file of forming the government, stressing that clear progress had been made in resolving the entitlement within the constitutional period.
