The Ministry of Finance revealed on Tuesday that Iraq’s total revenues reached 35.946 trillion dinars, while oil revenues declined in their dominance of state resources, constituting approximately 80% of total revenues. A ministry statement received by Al
-Maalomah News Agency indicated that “oil revenues amounted to 28.433 trillion dinars, compared to approximately 7.513 trillion dinars in non-oil revenues, equivalent to about 20% of total revenues.” The statement further
explained that “total expenditures reached 54.673 trillion dinars, of which 50.592 trillion dinars were current expenditures, while debt servicing amounted to 3.992 trillion dinars, and capital expenditures reached approximately 15.972 billion dinars.”
He pointed out that “employee compensation (salaries) topped the list of expenditure items at 30.769 trillion dinars, followed by social welfare at approximately 13.858 trillion dinars, then grants, subsidies, interest, and other expenses at 4.150 trillion dinars, in addition to 1.657 trillion dinars for commodity supplies and 122.8 billion dinars for service supplies.”
He continued, “Total expenditure reached 2.513 trillion dinars, with the investment program accounting for 1.634 trillion dinars, followed by regional development at 758.9 billion dinars, and then petrodollar projects at 86.7 billion dinars.”
He added that “the buildings and services sector received the highest investment spending at 1.188 trillion dinars, followed by the industrial sector at 869.8 billion dinars, then the transportation and communications sector at 332.9 billion dinars, and the education sector at 105.5 billion dinars, while allocations for the agricultural sector amounted to approximately 16.8 billion dinars.”
He added that “total expenditures exceeded revenues by approximately 18.727 trillion dinars by the end of June, reflecting the continued widening gap between state resources and the size of public spending.”
