Finance Minister - Employees salaries are fully secured and there is no intention to distribute them every 45 daysFinance Minister Faleh al-Sari confirmed that employee salaries are fully secured, while indicating that there is no intention to distribute salaries every 45 days. Al-Sari stated during his conversation with a number of experts and specialists that “the cost of monthly salaries amounts to about 7 trillion and 700 billion dinars, and we are working on raising the pensions and salaries of the lower grades.”

He added that “the ministry found a significant inflation in costs, and is working to address this inflation, control spending, and improve the efficiency of using financial resources.”

Regarding the tax file, Al-Sari explained that “the ministry is targeting about 3,800 major taxpayers, while the number of those committed to payment does not exceed about 1,300 taxpayers,” indicating that “those subject to taxes have been divided into two sections, and work is underway to expand the tax base by adopting the tax number.”

He also noted that “the program budget includes the Ministries of Finance and Electricity, as well as the governorates of Salah al-Din and Diwaniyah.” Al-Sari further indicated that “there are approximately 20 trillion dinars owed to the Ministry of Finance by other entities, and we are working to address and regulate these outstanding payments.”

Regarding oil exports, the Minister of Finance stated that “there is a Saudi-Kuwaiti pipeline that passes through the Red Sea with a capacity of up to two million barrels per day, and it is possible for Iraq to participate in it.”
