Faw Port awaits {Giant Hammer}

The General Company for Ports of Iraq stated that the {Giant Hammer} will arrive within the next few days to the port of Faw in order to establish the structures.
Relations and Information Officer at the Port Bahaa Ismail said in a press statement that “after signing contracts and laid the foundation stone in the port of Faw by the Prime Minister, the Korean company began its work despite doing some work prior to the signing of contracts, including survey sites from the remnants of war.”
He added, That, “in the next few days, the gigantic hammer of the port of Al-Faw will reach the conglomerate roads, which will be used in the construction of the port’s structures.”
He pointed out that “the company is following up the issue of foreign experts whose names were submitted by the Korean company in order to facilitate their entry, noting that these experts are of different nationalities and specialties.”
The Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, visited Basra Governorate on April 11th and laid the foundation stone for the large Faw port project {the five contracts}, which includes {the five container berths, filling a storage yard and container handling, digging the internal navigation channel, digging and furnishing the external navigation channel, a tunnel. Khor Al-Zubair Canal, the highway linking the port of Al-Faw and Umm Qasr. ”
