Said committee member Rep. Magda al-Tamimi told / JD /: The total cost of the smart card, which will be adopted in the election of 314 billion and 413 million Iraqi dinars.
She pointed out that this amounts allocated within the budget of the current year of 2014.
The Electoral Commission for elections, has announced the adoption of the smart card in the voting process the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in April 2014, confirming that it will distribute 21 million smart card for voters include all their data.
He indicated that a delegation from the Commission had discussed with the Spanish company Indra action steps for the smart card for the voters, while briefed on the implementation and processing of the card, which is a project of electronic voting in the election of the next House of Representatives in 2014
The Commission delegation held a field tour included numerous meetings with those responsible at the headquarters of the Spanish company, as well as in a branch of the manufacturer of the card contracted with the Commission.
It is noted that the company (Andhra) Spanish has won a tender implementation of electronic systems and statistical registration of voters in the voting process to the public in 2014, valued at 130 million euros.
