Erbil Governorate announced on Sunday the allocation of approximately 100 billion dinars to establish three strategic 132 kV power stations in the areas of 8 Hasarok, the Timar Industrial Zone, and the Shamamak district.
This came during a meeting chaired by Electricity Minister Kamal Muhammad Saleh and Erbil Governor Omid Khoshnaw to discuss addressing technical problems, stabilizing voltage, and reducing pressure on feeders in those areas in order to serve the residential, agricultural, and industrial sectors, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.
During the meeting, the governor of Erbil confirmed that the “Rowanaki” project had made great strides thanks to the support of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, indicating that mid-June would be the deadline for national electricity to reach all areas of the governorate’s borders 24 hours a day without exception.
He also noted the formation of a joint team to expedite field procedures and sign contracts with implementing companies within the next few days to ensure the projects are completed on schedule to enhance the energy infrastructure in the capital.
