Elekte Expects Saleh To Win After The Federal Court’s Decision On Zebari

A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ahmed Al-Harki, confirmed on Sunday that the Federal Court’s decision to prevent Hoshyar Zebari’s candidacy for the presidency of the republic increases Barham Salih’s chances of winning the presidency.
Al-Harki told “Information”, that “the Kurdish parties, especially the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, will be facing new scenarios after the Federal Court’s decision not to nominate Hoshyar Zebari for the presidency of the republic,” noting that “the court’s decision increases the chances of the Union candidate, Barham Salih, for the presidency.”
He added, “Despite the recent meetings that brought together Kurdish leaders, especially between Paval Talabani and Massoud Barzani, the Kurdish political position is still the same.”
The member of the National Union explained that “the coming period will witness dialogues between all political forces, especially the Kurdish ones, to try to find solutions to the file of the Presidency of the Republic and the formation of the new government.”
The Federal Supreme Court had decided earlier today, by ruling not to nominate Hoshyar Zebari for the presidency of the republic. Done/ 25 SR
