An informed source revealed today, Sunday, that figures accused of corruption, who are currently in prison after being arrested in recent government campaigns, are making intensive efforts to obtain judicial decisions that would allow them to be released on bail.
The source told Al-Maalomah that “Muthanna al-Samarrai and Ahmed al-Jubouri (Abu Mazen) have hired a large number of lawyers to work on the possibility of getting them out of prison on bail,” explaining that “Abu Mazen hired about ten lawyers and paid them very large sums of money, with the aim of obtaining a judicial decision that would allow him to be released on bail.”
He added that “the judiciary rejected all requests submitted regarding the release of those accused in corruption cases on financial bail, especially the accused Muthanna al-Samarrai and Ahmed al-Jubouri (Abu Mazen), due to the incompleteness of the investigations that are still ongoing to uncover all those involved in corruption charges.”
The source indicated that “investigations are ongoing to reach all networks linked to Adnan al-Jumaili and the rest of the accused in the corruption cases,” as well as “tracking cars, real estate, jewelry, money and everything related to the corruption cases.”
He pointed out that “the investigations are putting great pressure on us to access the funds that are suspected of being stolen and hidden in different places, with the aim of recovering them and uncovering all their paths.”
The source confirmed that “the detained suspects enjoy all their legal and human rights, in accordance with the procedures adopted during the course of the investigations.”
