Deputy - Washingtons ambassador crossed the borders and the government must expel her from IraqInformation/Baghdad..
On Monday, a member of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee, Nissan Al-Zayer, denounced the statements of the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alena Romanowski, regarding amending the law against prostitution and homosexuality, which was approved by the House of Representatives.
Al-Zayer told Al-Maalouma, “The American ambassador has exceeded the limits of her job and has begun interfering in matters that are not her business or concern, and the government should expel her, especially since she linked amending the law to economic growth.”
She added, “The human rights that the West praises are a big lie revealed by the horrific Zionists’ massacres against the people of Gaza. The ambassador did not condemn those massacres, but rather rose up against those who practiced prostitution and homosexuality.”
She stressed that “there will be no tolerance for those who destroy the values of society, spread obscenity, and spread vice under the pretext of human rights, and no country has the right to impose its culture and traditions on us.”
Al-Zayer pointed out that “the US ambassador’s statements represent blatant interference in Iraq’s affairs and a clear threat of an imminent economic war on the country.”
Earlier this week, Parliament approved a law criminalizing same-sex relations and transgenderism with a prison sentence of up to 15 years, after the first version provided for the death penalty.
