A member of the House of Representatives, Siham Shenoun, confirmed, on Wednesday, that the pressure exerted by the region on the Finance Committee is great, including the threat of the region’s representatives to boycott the voting session, but it will not affect the fairness of distribution .
Shannon said that “the region’s demands have been accustomed to them every year when preparing annual budgets in an attempt to gain as much money as possible, but the Finance Committee works according to legal measurements and contexts without paying attention to the pressures exerted by local regional governments when preparing annual budgets .”
She added that “waving the region’s representatives after attending the session to vote on the budget is part of the pressures that are exercised at every budget, and thus it is retracted when they feel that all the doors are set in front of them .”
The deputy of the State of Law coalition, Mansour Al-Baiji, demanded, today, to present the budget on the agenda of the nearest session in order to be passed by the political majority in case the Kurdistan Regional Government continues to procrastinate.
