Zuhair al-Jalabi, a member of the Coordination Framework, accused former Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani on Sunday of exploiting his position for personal gain, taking advantage of certain laws during the previous parliamentary elections and the government formation process.
Al-Jalabi told Information that “the former prime minister exploited his position to achieve personal gains, and a number of laws were also exploited to serve private interests, especially during the previous parliamentary elections and the distribution of ministerial portfolios.”
He added that “these practices constitute a violation of the law and cannot be overlooked,” calling for “holding accountable all those who exploit government positions for personal gain at the expense of the public interest.”
Al-Jalabi emphasized that “strengthening oversight, combating corruption, and preventing the abuse of power are among the priorities of the current phase to ensure the integrity of government work.”
