Completion of 3 pivotal projects at Al-Faw Port

The Ministry of Transport announced the completion of three key pillars within the Grand Faw Port project, paving the way for transforming Iraq into a global trade hub for transport and supply chains.
The Ministry’s Director of Media and Government Communication, Hussein Ahmed, told Al-Sabah newspaper that the five berths, the navigation channel, and the road connecting to the port have been fully completed. He added that work is underway to open two more projects soon, with the container yards reaching 97% completion and the submerged tunnel reaching 98%.
Ahmed pointed out that the minister is following up on removing obstacles to speed up work and ensure companies adhere to deadlines, stressing that these steps pave the way for completing the port’s operational requirements and linking it to the “Development Road” project towards regional and European markets.
