(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marshlands Committee confirmed that the governmental procedures for border crossings and self-sufficiency of many products will be an important support for the next year 2021 budget.
The head of the committee, Salam Al-Shammari, said in a statement that the Euphrates News Agency received a copy of it that “next year’s budget will witness, for the first time, an increase in the rates of non-oil imports as a result of the policy of diversifying sources of national income.”
He added, “The activation of government measures in the border crossings will have a clear effect on increasing revenues in addition to exporting the surplus of agricultural and animal production.”
Al-Shammari stressed “the necessity of diversification and not activating the issue of internal and external borrowing again, and heading to operating the stalled factories and factories, with a return to the issue of self-financing for some government agencies to reduce pressure on the operating budget.”
