On Thursday, Saleh Hamed Abdul-Razzaq, a member of the United Anbar Alliance, called for an emergency session of Parliament to vote on the expulsion of US and Turkish forces, the cancellation of all security agreements, and non-interference in the country’s internal affairs under any pretext.
Al-Dulaimi told Al-Maalomah News Agency that “the central government is not serious about removing US forces from their bases in Iraq, and the talk about their imminent withdrawal is nothing more than a tactical maneuver to disarm the resistance under the pretext that there is no longer a need for resistance given the withdrawal of foreign forces from the country – a stillborn plan.”
He added that “Parliament is required to hold an emergency session to declare its unanimous rejection of the presence of US and Turkish forces on Iraqi soil.”
He explained that “a US plan is looming for a tactical withdrawal from Iraq in an attempt to deceive the resistance into believing they are withdrawing and surrendering their weapons, after which they will begin redeploying their forces in Iraq.”
He asserted that “the Trump administration is not serious about implementing the terms of the agreement to withdraw its forces from Iraq, and that what has been said is merely rhetoric that does not reflect reality.”
