The United Kingdom, France and Germany welcomed on Tuesday the appointment of Ali al-Zaidi to form the new Iraqi government.

The British Embassy in Iraq expressed its wishes for al-Zaidi to “succeed in forming a new government quickly.”

She continued: “We look forward to working with the new government on the urgent challenges facing Iraq, particularly in the areas of security and the economy.”

For his part, the French ambassador, Patrick Durel, congratulated Ali al-Zaidi on being tasked with forming the new Iraqi government and assuming the position of Prime Minister of Iraq.

Durell confirmed in a post on the X platform that France stands with Iraq to “support efforts aimed at achieving stability, reforms and development for the benefit of all Iraqis.”

Meanwhile, Germany considered the swift formation of a government after the November elections important for Iraq, as it contributes to stability, progress and prosperity.

The German Embassy, ​​in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, congratulated Ali al-Zaidi on his nomination for the premiership and his appointment to form the new government.

She stated: “We value the strong partnership between the two countries and look forward to continuing close cooperation with the new government in all areas of mutual interest.”

The Coordination Framework announced yesterday, Monday, the nomination of Ali al-Zidi for the presidency of the Council of Ministers, while praising the positions of (al-Sudani and al-Maliki) for withdrawing their nomination.
