Wafaa Mohammed, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, criticized the performance of Speaker of Parliament Hebat al-Halbousi on Sunday, stating that his style of managing parliamentary sessions lacks the necessary professionalism and experience.
Mohammed told Al-Maalouma, “The way some parliamentary sessions are conducted does not reflect the level of responsibility entrusted to the Speaker, especially regarding contentious and sensitive issues.”
He added, “The Speaker employs an unprofessional approach to managing sessions, and he needs more wisdom and experience to handle the political differences within the parliament and ensure the smooth running of sessions.”
He pointed out that “the current stage requires a parliamentary administration capable of bridging the gaps between political blocs and resolving outstanding issues within the constitutional and legal frameworks.”
He emphasized that “the success of the parliament in performing its legislative and oversight duties depends on having a balanced administration capable of dealing with various political challenges.”
