Diyala Governorate announced on Sunday the completion of procedures to prepare 7,500 dunams of land in various areas of the governorate, in preparation for providing about 44,000 residential plots to those eligible, within Diyala’s share of the million plots initiative.
Hassan al-Jubouri, the deputy governor of Diyala for technical affairs, told Shafaq News Agency that “the procedures for lifting the agricultural reform on 7,500 dunams have been completed in various areas of Diyala Governorate, and the land has been prepared to provide about 44,000 plots of land to those entitled, which is the governorate’s share of the million plot initiative.”
Al-Jubouri explained that the governorate has completed the procedures related to the lands and prepared them to move to the sorting and distribution stage, noting that the remaining step is to sort the plots and distribute them after receiving instructions from the Prime Minister’s office.
He pointed out that the completion of this stage is linked to the instructions regulating the implementation of the initiative, stressing that the determination of those eligible will be carried out in accordance with the controls and instructions specific to it, in preparation for distributing the plots to those included after the completion of the sorting work and the determination of the locations of the residential plots within the prepared areas.
