Independent MP Mustafa Sanad reported the discovery of the largest organized crime of stealing Iraqi crude oil, carried out by a network consisting of the highest oil police commanders, who are linked at the highest levels with a group of smugglers, and they were arrested.
Sanad explained that the quantities that were smuggled were estimated at 100 million liters per month, equivalent to 750 million dollars annually
He confirmed that the network was protected under the rule of the Al-Kazemi government, and protection was lifted by order of Al-Sudani, noting that the National Security Agency monitored and implemented the operation, under the close supervision of the director of the device, Hamid Al-Shatri.
It is noteworthy that the Minister of Interior, Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, had directed, in the late hour of yesterday, the arrest of the Director General of the Energy Police.
A source in the ministry said, “The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, directed the arrest of the Director General of the Energy Police, Major General Ghanem Al-Ankoushy.”
The source added, “This order came on the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.”
