The Cabinet issued several decisions on Tuesday, including expediting the marketing of sulfur for domestic use or export. The Cabinet’s Media Office stated in a press release received by Al-Maalomah News Agency that “the Cabinet continued to monitor the implementation of fiscal rationalization measures and spending cuts in government ministries and institutions, as well as procedures to maximize resources, in order to provide support according to priorities that strengthen the service, economic, and livelihood sectors.” The statement
added that “in the area of banking reform, the Cabinet approved Al-Rasheed Bank’s contract with a financial and banking auditing and monitoring firm from the Ernst & Young group, to complete the monitoring and implementation of the audit and monitoring phases within the recommendations of the restructuring of Al-Rafidain and Al-Rasheed banks.”
It further explained that “in the area of expanding mineral resource exports, the Cabinet approved the procedures of the Ministries of Oil and Industry and Minerals regarding expediting the marketing of sulfur for domestic use or export, as well as associated sulfur, in both its raw and processed forms, according to the mechanism mentioned in Cabinet Decision No. 844 of 2025.”
He noted that “the Cabinet approved amending its Resolution (184 of 2026) by adding a clause authorizing the Iraqi Oil Tankers Company to have the financial authority to sign the contract from the start of loading.”
He added that “the Cabinet approved the Ministry of Finance’s payment of Basra Gas Company’s invoices promptly and on the due dates stipulated in the Basra Gas Company Development Agreement.”
He pointed out that “the reports received from the Integrity Commission regarding the follow-up on the adoption of the results of implementing automation in government sectors, in accordance with Cabinet Resolution (134 of 2026), were referred to the Ministry of Finance to take the necessary steps regarding coordination with relevant entities.”
He further stated that “the Cabinet reviewed the file of equipping health institutions and approved the Ministry of Health’s continued operation in accordance with Cabinet Resolution (515 of 2023), concerning medical devices, supplies, and materials necessary for their operation, imported from the public sector at a rate of (0.5%) (half of one percent), given that these are essential and life-saving materials, excluding contracts prepared before this resolution.”
He explained that “the Council approved the loan of the floating dock from the Ministry of Defense/Navy to the Ministry of Transport/General Company for Iraqi Ports, in accordance with the law, and its subsequent donation after the issuance of instructions to facilitate the implementation of the upcoming federal budget. The General Company for Iraqi Ports will then undertake the free docking of naval vessels belonging to the Navy as part of an annual plan, which will be duly approved by the relevant authorities in the Ministries of Defense and Transport.”
