An informed source revealed on Saturday that a state of alert was declared at a US base near Erbil, which went into effect suddenly this afternoon.
The source told Al-Maalomah that “the US base located in the vicinity of the Harir area near Erbil entered a state of maximum alert suddenly and without prior warning this afternoon.”
He added that “the measures included closing the main gates of the base, suspending the movement of some helicopters, and the detection of a drone,” noting that “the reasons for this alert are still unknown, and it is the first of its kind in weeks.”
The source indicated that “this sudden alert may be due to a security emergency or a development on the ground that prompted these measures,” explaining that “the Harir base, where US forces are deployed, is one of the most important bases for logistical support, especially for US bases deployed in Syria.”
