A source within the coordination framework revealed on Tuesday the reason for postponing the meeting of the framework’s leaders, which was scheduled for yesterday.
The source told Shafaq News Agency that “the meeting was postponed due to Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s trip to France and Germany, and the political forces’ failure to reach a final agreement on the vacant ministries.”
He noted that “an agreement was reached between the political leaders to postpone the framework meetings until after the Prime Minister returns from his European tour and reviews the results of his visit.”
He added that, in light of this, the leaders agreed to postpone the meeting and continue communication between the political forces to reach satisfactory solutions regarding the vacant ministries.
The source indicated that the Prime Minister informed the political leaders, prior to his trip to France and Germany, of the need to resolve the issue of the government cabinet during this month, to end the controversy and expedite its formation.
The Shiite Coordination Framework forces were scheduled to hold their meeting yesterday, Monday, to discuss several issues, according to a source within the framework who spoke to Shafaq News Agency.
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi arrived in Paris on Sunday evening, September 13, for an official visit, and left today after signing memoranda of understanding and partnership, heading to Berlin.
