On Thursday, after gaining the confidence of the Iraqi parliament, Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi thanked the political forces, while stressing the need to move towards consolidating stability.

Al-Zaydi said in a post on the “X” platform: I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the House of Representatives and the national political forces for granting confidence to the government, in a position that embodies the high national interest and the spirit of partnership and responsibility.

He added, “This trust represents a great responsibility and a pledge to our dear people, that we will move steadily towards consolidating stability, enhancing the prestige of the state, and achieving the aspirations of Iraqis for development, justice, and a decent life.”

On Thursday afternoon, the Iraqi parliament voted to grant confidence to the government of Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and its ministerial program, voting on 14 ministers, while postponing the vote on 6 ministries, including higher education and interior, due to objections to the candidates .

A parliamentary source told Shafaq News Agency that “the postponed ministries, along with the deputies of the President of the Republic and the Government, will be decided after the Eid al-Adha holiday.”
