The Prime Minister’s Media Office stated on Saturday that residential plots within the “Homeland” initiative will be completely free.
The office stated in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency that “all Iraqi families whose members do not own a housing unit or property will be included in the initiative.”
He added that “an electronic link for registering for residential land plots will be launched next October,” indicating that “more than 216,000 residential land plots have been prepared as a first phase in 15 governorates.”
He explained that “work will begin with the implementation of the infrastructure for these plots through donor investors and contributors free of charge,” noting that “the competent committees, under the supervision of the Prime Minister’s office, are continuing to work around the clock to complete the project, with the aim of preparing one million residential plots.”
It is worth noting that an official source in the Ministry of Construction and Housing revealed to Shafaq News Agency last Wednesday the date for opening applications for land plots within the “One Million Plots” initiative.
According to the source, the link for citizens to apply for land plots within the initiative launched by Prime Minister Ali al-Zidi will be opened and officially announced at the beginning of next October.
