Al-Zaydi to Harris: Let’s work together according to the Strategic Framework Agreement

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi urged US Chargé d’Affaires Joshua Harris on Sunday to maintain joint work in accordance with the Strategic Framework Agreement signed between the two countries.
This came during al-Zaidi’s reception of Harris in Baghdad, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Media Office and received by Shafaq News Agency.
The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries, and ways to develop and expand relations in all fields, especially economic, investment and cultural, on the basis of mutual respect and common interests, in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples.
The Iraqi Prime Minister pointed to the need for constructive communication between the two countries and the continuation of joint work within the framework of the Strategic Framework Agreement and bilateral memoranda of understanding.
Al-Zaydi stressed the importance of both sides’ commitment to strengthening partnership and coordination on various bilateral and regional issues, and working to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy in resolving conflicts and establishing security and stability in the region.
For his part, the US Chargé d’Affaires expressed his country’s appreciation for Iraq’s efforts to strengthen bilateral partnerships in various fields, while also praising Baghdad’s pivotal role and its efforts to support regional security and stability.
