Saif Al-Mansouri, a member of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, confirmed on Tuesday that the coordination framework meeting held yesterday at the home of Badr Organization Secretary-General Hadi Al-Amiri focused primarily on the issue of completing the cabinet and the mechanisms for filling the remaining vacant ministerial positions.
Al-Mansouri told Al-Maalouma that “political forces and blocs have submitted lists containing between three and six candidates for each of the remaining ministries,” noting that “the names have been submitted to the Prime Minister to choose the most suitable candidate from among them, in preparation for completing the government formation.”
He added that “the political agreement stipulates that the president should present two names of candidates to the House of Representatives, and that one of the proposed names should be chosen, with the aim of speeding up the decision procedures and avoiding a repeat of the scenario of the first session, which witnessed disagreements that prevented the completion of the cabinet.”
He indicated that “the upcoming parliamentary session will be held next week, and he expects it to witness progress towards resolving the issue of the remaining ministerial posts and proceeding with completing the government formation.”
