Member of the Coordination Framework, Abdul Samad al-Zarkoushi, confirmed on Thursday the existence of political disagreements regarding two ministries, which may lead to postponing their resolution in the parliamentary session this evening.
Al-Zarkoushi explained to Al-Maalouma that “the parliamentary session will be held this evening with a legal quorum, given the political consensus among the major political forces regarding finalizing their choices, particularly concerning the remaining ministerial portfolios in Ali al-Zaidi’s government.” He clarified that “all ministries are settled, especially the security ministries, with the exception of two, one of which is Planning, where disagreements persist and have not yet been resolved. Therefore, postponing their resolution is very likely.”
He indicated that “the nomination of the deputy prime ministers to Ali al-Zaidi is settled, and we do not expect it to be postponed or delayed, given the political consensus on this step.” He emphasized that “there is an agreement to resolve everything presented in today’s session, but the issue of the two ministries may be postponed to another time if no agreement is reached.”
