Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa confirmed on Friday that Iraq has already begun exporting oil shipments by land through Syrian territory towards the Mediterranean Sea, indicating his country’s ability to play a pivotal role within the regional routes of global energy supply chains.
Al-Sharaa said, during his participation in a special dialogue session on the sidelines of the annual Antalya Diplomacy Forum, that Syria is not just a station for distributing and re-exporting energy, but is also an important “food basket” due to its agricultural wealth and natural resources.
