Former MP Mohammed Al-Shammari, a member of the State of Law Coalition, confirmed on Wednesday that the coordination framework will move this evening to officially announce the nomination of Nouri Al-Maliki for the position of Prime Minister, after reaching an internal consensus among all parties of the framework.
Al-Shammari told Al-Maalouma that “the objections and observations raised by some forces within the framework, including the Hikma Movement, were discussed and addressed during the recent meetings and were resolved,” noting that “the agreement has been fully reached within the coordination framework.”
He added, “A meeting will be held this evening, after which Maliki’s nomination is expected to be officially announced,” explaining that “the path is now clear for Maliki to assume the premiership after the internal consensus was reached.”
