Member of the National Wisdom Movement, Maysar Al-Shammari, revealed today, Saturday, that there is a preliminary agreement to hold a session to complete the vote on the ministerial cabinet of Al-Zidi’s government during next week.
Al-Shammari told Al-Maalouma that “there are positive understandings within the coordination framework to proceed with voting on the remaining ministerial portfolios in Al-Zidi’s cabinet.”
He added that “the framework asked the State of Law coalition to replace its previous candidates for the Ministries of Interior and Higher Education,” indicating that “there is a response and discussion within the State of Law coalition regarding this request.”
Al-Shammari pointed out that “the time for talk about forming new parliamentary alliances has passed,” stressing that “the coordination framework is cohesive and is considered the largest parliamentary bloc within the parliament.”
He added that “the framework will work to address the new challenges that the country may face in the next phase.”
On May 15th, the House of Representatives voted to approve 14 ministerial portfolios in al-Zidi’s government, while the approval of nine ministries was delayed. Among these, five ministries were the subject of controversy regarding the reasons for their non-approval. Accusations were leveled against the Speaker of Parliament concerning his failure to manage the session and his deliberate miscounting of votes, according to some political forces.
