On Friday, Abdul Sattar al-Salihi, a member of the Anbar Alliance, warned of the consequences of Sunni forces rejecting the draft law on the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). He called on all political forces to approve the law in recognition of the sacrifices made by PMF fighters in liberating areas seized by ISIS terrorists.
Al-Salihi told the Information Agency, “The Anbar PMF fighters, numbering more than ten thousand, warn Sunni forces against opposing the passage of the PMF law, which is considered the country’s safety valve.”
He added, “PMF fighters in all Iraqi provinces have made great sacrifices to liberate cities occupied by ISIS terrorists. The blood of PMF fighters cannot be trivialized by politicians who indulge in their pleasures and make decisions that suit their parties, forgetting the blood that was shed for a unified Iraq.” He pointed out that “all political forces are required to vote in favor of the PMF law in appreciation of their heroic role in defending the land and honor.”
