On Wednesday, the leader of the Shiite National Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, issued several directives to the leaders and individuals in the Peace Brigades, the armed wing of the movement.
According to a document received by Shafaq News Agency, Al-Sadr stipulated that the vehicles allowed to be owned and ridden must be exclusively of Korean and Chinese origin, in addition to prohibiting riding in a car without numbers, and not putting the name of the Peace Brigades, the names of the Al-Sadr family, and their pictures on the vehicles.
On April 29, 2026, al-Sadr issued “strict” decisions against the leaders of the Peace Brigades (the military wing of the movement), most notably conducting a financial audit of everyone before they assume positions, in addition to withdrawing weapons from them and “freezing” their accounts on social media.
