Former MP Baqir al-Saadi confirmed on Tuesday that Iraqi oil exports to international markets will take on an upward dimension in the coming weeks via the Strait of Hormuz.
Al-Saadi explained in his interview with Al-Maalouma that “there is important coordination between Baghdad and Tehran to provide safe passages for the movement of Iraqi oil tankers towards international markets, noting that the first tankers have already set off, and other tankers are expected to follow.”
He pointed out that “oil exports to international markets are steadily increasing, which is extremely important, especially since Baghdad relies directly on oil revenues to cover operating expenses,” stressing that Iraqi oil fields are still achieving good production rates, making the next phase one of increased oil marketing to global markets.
