Al-Party Confirms Again: There Is No Renewal For Saleh And No Repetition Of The 2018 Scenario

The Kurdistan Democratic Party, headed by Masoud Barzani, renewed, on Wednesday, its refusal to renew the mandate of the current President of the Republic, Barham Salih, while noting that the scenario of 2018 by choosing the President of the Republic will not be repeated.
The leader of the party, Majid Shankali, said in an interview with “The Information”, that “the Kurdish component is serious about going to Baghdad with one candidate for the presidency, and the 2018 scenario will not be repeated in most cases, but this is a policy, and everything in it is possible.”
Shankali added, “The Kurdistan Democratic Party has clearly announced its unwillingness to renew the current President of the Republic, Barham Salih, and consultations are ongoing so far.”
He pointed out that “the Democratic Party did not say that the position of the President of the Republic is from its share, but this is normal because it is an electoral entitlement as we are the largest Kurdish bloc, but we want the position of the President of the Republic to be in agreement between the two parties so that there is a Kurdish option and an effective participation of the Kurds in forming the government.” finished/25
