Political analyst Haider al-Moussawi considered, on Wednesday, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi’s endeavor to establish the new Sunni framework as an attempt to remove the imminent danger of impeachment, while stressing that it came to absorb the clear rejection of the Sunni leaders after the methods in which al-Halbousi is currently working.
Al-Moussawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma agency, “There is a siege by all Sunni forces on Al-Halbousi as a result of the exploitation of his position to impose wills and influence many political decisions,” noting that “Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi is trying to ward off the imminent danger of impeachment by establishing The New Sunni Framework Project.
And he added, “This project has many goals, including absorbing the clear rejection of the Sunni leaders of the methods in which Al-Halbousi is currently working,” noting that “the Speaker of Parliament seeks to repeat the experience of the success of the Shiite framework during the last period in the political process.”
Regarding the elections and their relationship to seeking to establish the Sunni framework, Al-Moussawi explains: “Al-Halbousi is trying to invest in establishing the Sunni framework in order to run in the provincial and local council elections after threats that predicted the failure of entering alone with one list.”
