MP Karim Aliwi Al-Muhammadawi revealed today, Monday, the reasons for postponing the meetings of the coordination framework regarding the premiership, indicating that the continued disagreement may push towards the option of a compromise candidate for prime minister.
Al-Muhammadawi told the Information Agency that “the postponement of the meetings came as a result of the failure to reach a final agreement between the political blocs, in addition to the existence of more than one proposed candidate, which requires further dialogue and understanding to bridge the differences.”
He added that “the coordination framework seeks to avoid imposing any candidate without consensus, therefore the meetings are being postponed to allow more time for discussion and to reach a formula that satisfies all parties, and that the continuation of the disagreement may push towards the option of a compromise candidate.”
It is worth noting that the critical circumstances the region is going through necessitate expediting the formation of a fully empowered government while taking into account the national balance of all components to ensure the stability of the overall political landscape.
